How to Comment on Blogs Without Spamming for SEO

Blogs, forums and other such elements of websites provide us with a great way to generate a community for people interested in a certain topic. Blog owners often get to know each other and help promote each others’ sites, forums generate their own content and encourage repeated visits, and even help networking. From an SEO point of view this has many advantages, but not only for the owners of the site, but also for the visitors who can use this as a way to network, as a platform for reaching interested parties, and as a way to of course get your link on a site that ranks well with Google already. You can write whatever you want in a comment on Blogger or WordPress so it’s easy to drop your link into your comment and improve your SEO. However this creates an alluring temptation for many people to place as many links as they can on peoples blogs by posting hundreds of comments on blogs that they know nothing about. This is incredibly frustrating for visitors and blog owners as it’s tantamount to spamming. This can potentially get you banned by Google, but more to the point it will put people off visiting your site as you look interesting and intelligent so the assumption is that your site will be too. More importantly though, comments that look like spam are far more likely to get deleted. Thus if you spend the same amount of time posting just a few well written posts as you would posting hundreds of comments on hundreds of blogs, you will probably end up with more links remaining in a month’s time – and those posts will be less annoying for everyone else as an added bonus. Going about posting a comment with a link that’s not spam takes a little bit of time and thought. First of all: read the post you’re about to comment on. If you do not then you won’t know what you’re commenting about, as in your comment you should respond to or elaborate upon the point made in the blog post – probably using your link. This also means that you should only comment on relevant blogs, which is something that Google will reward you for as well. When you comment too, make sure that you respond to the comments that are already there too or you will look like a robot, posting without making any ‘conversation’ or observing the unwritten rules of internet communication. There are other ways to make yourself look more authentic. One is that you should have your own blog and your profile with Blogger, WordPress or something similar. If you do then people will be able to follow it to find out more about you, and to see that you genuinely are interested in the topic. Bloggers love networking with other bloggers so this is a sure way to be ‘in’ with the crowd. Finally, having your own profile will give you yet another place to put your link which many visitors will find.

Once you join blogosphere and begin to form your visions toward blogging success, you should remember that you cannot gain this easily. You have to work hard for it. One major strategy for boosting your blog is comment marketing.

You need to spend some time reading other blogs that are similar to yours in topic and business/hobby orientation. This helps you see the same concepts from different angles. Then, you read, contribute, appreciate, agree, disagree, etc by commenting at those blog posts. Comment marketing is a great tactic to achieve lots of goals.We call it marketing as by leaving a comment, you’ve contributed to the blog and its readers. People read your words and learn more about you and your attitude in relation to the topic of the post. The more they see you participate this way, the more your name will remain in their minds. Then, you become the same person who has said so and so. It’s then that people click on your name.

When people read your remarks and click on your name, they arrive at your site. Depending on which page you’ve set your URL link while commenting, they will get to see your site. Blogging success has gone half of its way so far. Someone posted a comment on one of my articles at EzineArticles that I had written concerning the need to have a WordPress blog. The point made was that whether you have a WordPress blog or one of the other types of blogs, you still have to have traffic.Now, traffic is a part of the formula that is necessary for the success of your Internet business. Without traffic you will have no sales. Without sales, you have no Internet business.In this article I will talk about how to get links to your newly created WordPress blog. You see, if you just bought a brand new domain and created a WordPress blog on that domain you will not get any traffic unless you have links pointing to your blog. Remember, “no links equals no traffic”. Let me say it another way, you have got to get links pointing to your site or you will not succeed!These links should be of the highest quality. If you get 25 links from sites that are not authority sites it will not do you much good. It would be much better to get 5 links from sites that have good page rank and are closely matched to the theme of your blog.There are two ways to get these types of links. First, you can research the web and find high quality sites that are theme related to your theme and contact them asking for links to your site. Good luck with that, why would they want to link to your new page rank zero site?I suggest that you build a “Blog Farm”. Your own blog farm has one distinct advantage of being under your complete control. Instead of having to go begging for links, you will have the ability to add a link from your blog farm to your new WordPress blog yourself. As a matter of fact, you will have the power to add a link to “any” new blog that you create in the future.What happens is the link to your new WordPress blog draws the search engine spiders which is necessary in order for your blog to be listed in the major search engines, which are Google, Yahoo, and MSN.I will go over the specifics of exactly “how” to construct a blog farm in my next article.
