Is blogging the right way to make money online? It certainly is a good way to make money as many people expert in their fields have succeeded in making a full time income with their blogs. So, how does someone without a degree in Information Technology can start a blog?
Beginning and updating a blog is not technically hard, the difficulty is more on the writing aspect. Bloggers have to be experts in some areas, it might be fishing, dog obedience training, growing plants or cooking. In order to succeed it is important to like writing and be committed to post articles regularly.
After the blog topic has been chosen, and with already a lot of things to say, a domain name can be chosen. After signing-up for hosting, the control panel should offer the possibility to install WordPress automatically with Fantastico. This usually takes less than five minutes and blogging can start immediately. It is important to remember the admin password that has been chosen at that point.
After logging in the Admin area of WordPress, one can see what the different options and tools are. More tools that are called plug-ins can be added later to incorporate some more functionality. New bloggers may start writing while learning and improving their blog along the way.
There is a possibility to change the look of the blog in installing a WordPress theme from the admin section. There are a lot of them available for free, and it is best to choose one that is simple and readable, with dark fonts on a white or light background, keeping in mind that what is more important is content, not design.
New bloggers must take blogging as a hobby first, writing useful content, working on optimization, making the blog more interesting, before thinking of earning anything from it. When the blog improves and more people are reading the articles, it will be time to slowly introduce adverts.
The blog can generate an income from four different ways. The first one is to sell ad spaces to advertisers, the second is to join a paid link network, the third is to place Google Ads and the last is to insert affiliate products related to the blog. There are of course, more possibilities that can be experienced after the blogger gets more experience.
