10 Useful Plugins for WordPress MU
This plugin allows users of a WordPress MU site or WordPress 3.0 network to map their blog/site to another domain.
WordPress MU Category Mapping Plugin
This plugin lets you create category mappings allowing for one top-level blog to act as a portal for your global community of WPMU blogs. Category postings are aggregated based on the mappings and displayed on the top-level blog.
Adds a Theme Stats option to the site admin menu. The admin panel lists all the themes in use site-wide. At the top of the list will be the most popular theme and a number in brackets of how many are in use. Click on the name, and a drop-down list will appear of all blogs using that theme, with a link to each blog’s home and dashboard.
The UltimateIDX Presents, WP Menu Creator for WordPress Menu Management at its best. Developed originally for the theme developer, new features make this release a little more friendly for casual users. This plugin provides blog website owners with a truly easy to manage easy to configure menu solution for WordPress or WordPress CMS sites. In this release you can now assign menus to pages, posts, categories, tags and tag slugs, similar to popular CMS solutions like Joomla or Drupal. With this Menu Manager you can configure your menus with images, position, rank, level and literally any number of a dozen different baseline formats of common menu design today.
OpenID Provider for WordPress MU
Once installed, OpenID 1.1 link tags will be added to the homepage of every hosted weblog. Users can then use their weblog as an OpenID; when they authenticate against third party sites using that URL, WordPress MU will ask them if they wish to share their identity with the site in question. If they say yes (or click “always”) they will be redirected back and logged in to that site.
The plugin also adds a new “OpenID” menu item to the Options tab in the WordPress admin application. This new page allows users to manually add and remove sites from their “always trust” list – although normally they will only modify that list indirectly by clicking the “always” button when they sign in to a site.
WordPress MU Sitewide Tags Pages
This plugin creates a new blog on your WordPress MU system for all the posts on your site, much like http://wordpress.com/tags/
For performance reasons the number of posts is limited to a user configurable amount, and the blog itself can be made indexable by search engines or not.
WordPress MU Subdomain Forwarding
This plugin turns a vanilla WordPress MU install into a subdomain forwarding site. It gives each user a subdomain and allows path forwarding to an external site, a hosted blog and/or a hosted profile. Meta tags, keywords and path forwarding to external sites are all supported.
Users should go to Dashboard->Subdomain to edit subdomain settings and activate/deactivate the blog and profile. The public profile can be edited at Users->Public Profile. The admin for the plugin is at Site Admin->Subdomain Forwarding.
Sitemap Generator For WordPress MU
Automatically generate standard XML sitemap for wordpress MU blogs (works for both sub-domain and sub-directory WPMU blogs) and add sitemap into current robots.txt.
Secure Invites for WordPress MU
This plugin stops access to your signup page, except where the visitor has been invited and clicked the link in their invitation email. Your users invite people, and you can see who has sent the most invitations, and how many resulting signups have occurred.
Multipost MU is a WordPress MU plugin that allows you publish a post or page made to a single blog across multiple blogs. An option panel is added to the sidebar of the Add/Edit post and Add/Edit page screens that allow you to select other blogs to which the current post/page is published. If the “master post/page” is edited or deleted, all multiposted copies will also be edited or deleted.
