Supporting a Low Carbon Economy Through Design Process Transformation

Product design across a wide range of sectors (automotive, aerospace, marine, power generation, etc) will need to deliver enhanced environmental performance. Furthermore, such tools will also need to optimise manufacturability, thereby enhancing production efficiency. And the design process itself must become more efficient through the use of low energy computing systems and enhanced processes to reduce energy consumption. Delivering this challenging vision is dependent on a broad-based programme of demanding research, and close engagement between users and technology developers.
