Twitoria : How Many Twitter Friends Are You Really Following?
What is Twitoria?
Clutter is pervasive. Twitoria tries to reduce Twitter’s clutter by revealing friends you are following that haven’t posted an update in a while. It can, for example, easily track down those pesky friend spammers that post no content, or people that have abandoned Twitter for another status updating service. Why follow them if they no longer tweet?
Q: How come I have to click through multiple pages to see my inactive friends?
A: Due to limitations of Twitter’s public API, only 100 friends are filtered through per page. That means that Twitoria can only comb through 100 friends at a time. Yes, it would be much more convenient to see all of them at once, but that is not technically possible at the moment without abusing Twitter’s servers.
Q: Does Twitoria show friends that have private profiles?
A: Not yet. Showing inactive private profiles would not be possible unless users logged in, however many users feel wary about entering one website’s login info on another. On the other hand, this would allow deleting friends directly from this page. If there is enough demand, this feature may be implemented in the near future.
